With the Littmann Master Cardiology stethoscope, a complete seal of the chestpiece against the skin is desirable. The Special Procedure Adaptor ensures a complete seal for small site auscultation by reducing the diameter of the chestpiece. It is flexible and comfortable and especially useful for pediatric or thin patients, around bandages and carotid assessment.
The Special Procedures Adaptor is designed to fit over the diaphragm side of the chestpiece and enhances both low and high frequency detection by improving source localization.
Attached the adaptor to the chestpiece by pressing it over the diaphragm. It may be easily removed by pulling it away from the chestpiece. It may be wiped clean with alcohol or warm soapy water.
